1952年出生於高雄,現居住及工作於臺南。臺灣紀實攝影師。多次為報社雜誌拍攝庶民生活、傳統節慶、古蹟風景、人物肖像、現代建築等專題。為「V-10視覺藝術群」成員。1994年獲得吳三連獎。1998年起受文資中心委託拍攝臺灣光復前後之老、中輩作家人物肖像,並於2004 年由國家臺灣文學館集結出版《文學的容顏:臺灣作家群像攝影》;1999年起拍攝記錄臺灣各地竹編藝術匠師的工作過程及成品;2004年起參與國家文藝基金會計畫,記錄、觀察臺灣各地社區營造及人文景況;2012年參與臺南歷史街區人文影像調查記錄。曾舉辦個展:「鹿港龍山寺初探」(1986)、「臺灣本土人物」與「大陸片羽」雙個展(1996),「末代公娼」(2001)、「文學的容顏」(2004)、「農村新映像——農民影像展」(2013)、「私人備忘」(2014)。近年聯展:「V-10視覺藝術群30年大展」(2003)、「出社會1990年以後臺灣批判寫實藝術聯展」(2012)、年「南方上岸」(2015)。

Born in 1952, Kaohsiung, Lin lives and works as a documentary photographer in Tainan. He has been invited many times by newspapers and magazines to make photography projects on common people’s life, traditional festivals, historical sites and landscapes, portraits, and modern architecture. Lin is also a member of “Group Visual-10.” In 1994, he was presented Wu San-Lien Award. Since 1998, he has been commissioned by Bureau of Cultural Heritage to take photos of senior or middle-aged writers active around the Retrocession of Taiwan. Works of the project were later compiled and published in The Faces of Literature: A Photography Book of Taiwanese Writers by National Museum of Taiwan Literature. In addition, Lin has been recording the working processes and works of bamboo weaving craftsmen since 1999, and he has joined in The National Culture and Arts Foundation’s project to record and observe community developments and cultural landscape around Taiwan since 2004. In 2012, he participates in a project to record scenes in heritage districts in Tainan. Solo exhibitions: A Preliminary Study of Lukang Longshan Temple (1986), the two exhibitions Local Figures in Taiwan and Remnants of the Mainland (1996), The Last Licensed Prostitutes (2001), The Face of Literature (2004), Fresh Rural Impressions-Portraits of Farmers (2013), and Personal Memorandum (2014). Recent joint exhibitions: Thirty Years of Group Visual-10 (2003), After graduation: Critical and Realistic Art in Taiwan since 1990 (2012), and A Voyage to South (2015).
