高雄市出生、現居住臺南。1975成為席德進入室弟子，受其影響1977年轉向攝影，1977年踏上攝影報導之路，擅長地景、古蹟、民俗、人物和常民生活。以創作的態度面對工作，常在尋常事物中發現光影之美，影像兼具社會關懷與人文精神。
Born in Kaohsiung, Lin currently resides in Tainan. In 1975, he became a disciple of De-Jinn Shiy, and under Shiy’s influence, Lin embarked on the path of photojournalism in 1977. Lin excels in capturing landscapes, historical sites, folk customs, people, and everyday life. Approaching his work with a creative mindset, Lin often discovers the beauty of light and shadow in ordinary objects, creating images that reflect both social concerns and humanistic spirit.
